Founded in 1989 in partnership with carers, professionals and both national and voluntary organisations; Linkability works for people who experience learning disabilities. Up until 2009 Linkability primarily provided innovating services to citizens of Chorley and South Ribble. Since 2009 Linkability has been a trusted and preferred provider for Rochdale Metropolitan Borough Council.
The current board numbers 7 trustees with capacity to recruit up to 12. The existing boards characteristics are made up of people from Health, Social Services, Academia, the business community, but most importantly, carers’ of people we work for.
Linkability has a priority need to recruit a carer and/or professional from the Rochdale area. The aim is to support one or two people to lead our internal quality services group for services in Rochdale.
Charity Law normally excludes Trustees from receiving payment, but we are able to offer expenses associated with being a Trustee such as travel and related costs to attend meetings.
For informal discussion on the role of Trustees and our Trustee recruitment policy, please either phone or e-mail Jo Adshead, Executive Director at our Chorley office using the information on the ‘Contact Us’ page.
