Linkability is a registered Charity with its registered office in Chorley, Lancashire and a branch office in Ormskirk, West Lancashire and Heywood, Greater Manchester
Linkability began in 1989 when a group of parents got together…
In 1989 a group of parents of children with learning disabilities got together, with the help of local and national charities, professional people and Social Services, decided that they wanted something better for their children (in transition to adulthood) than was available at the time.
Linkability helps people with learning disabilities get homes, care and support.
Linkability is a registered Charity with its registered office in Chorley, Lancashire, which helps people with learning difficulties get homes, care and support. The level of Care and Support is determined by assessed need within The Provisions of The Care Act 2014.
We do this in partnership with health, Social Services, housing providers and other local voluntary faith organisations.
Linkability is committed to providing the very best care or personal support required in order to meet the needs of people using its services. It achieves this by making sure staff are well trained to the specific needs of the people concerned. In many situations this requires training that builds on mandatory workforce requirements.
When someone comes to us requesting our help, we listen to the views of the person needing that help, the views of the people who know them well and views of the people who care for them most. Collectively we produce a ‘person centred’ plan for care and support.
Linkability employs around 200 highly trained staff in Management, Administrative and direct care or personal support positions committed to ensuring the rights of the individuals with learning disabilities. We are a preferred provider with Lancashire Learning Disability Domiciliary Services. Likewise Linkability is an approved provider with RMBC
All our staff have Enhanced DBS background checks before they come to work for us.
Linkability has a Board of Trustees who meet regularly to check that everything is done properly and that people we support are safe and well cared for at all times.
